We created Rolling Light as a unique expansion of customary notions of lamp design, prompting intimacy between light and user. The engageable fixture is far from fixed: by manipulating its form, the user can brighten or dim its glow.
The simple gesture of rolling the object controls its vibrancy. Unrolling it reveals light, while the opposite conceals it. Like an eclipse, the opaque peel blocks light altogether when the cover is completely rolled around the cylinder.
